(DALLAS, Texas - March, 2015) — Travelers between Dallas and Houston will have a new transportation choice beginning April 20—luxury motor coach service complete with first class seats, ample workspace, Wi-Fi, a conference room and an on-board attendant offering premium cabin service.
Launched in May 2014 with routes between Dallas and Austin, Vonlane was founded to give travelers an alternative to the delays and hassles that often accompany short haul flights or self driving. The service has been particularly well-received by business travelers—professionals like attorneys, accountants, lobbyists and other service providers who bill their time and expertise.
For the new route between Dallas and Houston, Vonlane will initially offer two departures per day in each city. One-way fare that includes all amenities and service is $100. A limited-time $69 one-way fare will be available for travel from April 20 through May 31.
Vonlane will provide travelers non-stop service between Dallas and Houston in about the same time as a commercial airline flight between the two cities, factoring in airport parking, security lines, pre-board wait time, deplaning and entry into ground transportation.
"As soon as we launched last year, we started getting requests to add service to Houston," said Alex Danza, founder and President of Vonlane. "We're so pleased to give travelers the flexibility of productive, convenient and comfortable day trips between Dallas and Houston."
Vonlane offers a first class alternative to regional airline travel that is priced competitively with the lowest coach-class airline fares, half the price of the typical fare selected by business travelers and more cost effective than IRS reimbursement levels for personal vehicle mileage.
"We're helping people reclaim the hours that are typically wasted when flying or driving between Texas cities," said Danza. "Whether someone wants to be productive during their trip or simply relax, we've created the ideal environment and experience."
Vonlane motor coaches feature 16 premium seats, in addition to a 6-seat conference room that may be reserved during the booking process. Business travelers can collaborate in privacy in the Vonlane conference room that is outfitted with three flat panel monitors for laptop projection. Complimentary Wi-Fi, refreshments, noise cancelling headsets, a wireless printer and other amenities are available at no charge. For travelers taking a break from work, in-motion satellite television and radio are available. In addition to comfort features, each motor coach is equipped with state-of-the-art safety technology and an engine exceeding EPA standards for emissions and fuel economy.
Vonlane motor coaches will depart and arrive in Dallas at the Doubletree Hotel across from Love Field and in Houston at the Sheraton North Houston at George Bush Intercontinental. Rental car and other ground transportation options are available at the hotels, which will also offer discounted rates to Vonlane passengers. Vonlane customers will have the option to take advantage of hotel, rental car and chauffeured services offers at their time of booking in order to ensure a seamless door-to-door travel experience.
Vonlane will run from Dallas to Houston at 6 am and 2 pm, and Houston to Dallas at 10 am and 6 pm. At arrival and departure locations, travelers simply need to arrive five minutes before departure, confirm their online reservation with a photo ID, hand their car keys to a valet parking attendant, climb aboard the coach and settle into their reserved seat.
Vonlane expects to add a Houston-Austin route by the end of 2015.
